The Olympic Reset: You Don’t Need a Gold Medal to Start Again
Feb 25, 2026Every time the Olympics roll around, I cry at commercials and suddenly believe I too could qualify for something if snacks were involved. But here’s what really hits me — these athletes don’t wake up one day and become extraordinary. They reset. Over and over again. After losses. After OT losses. After injuries. After bad seasons. They recommit.
And I don’t know about you, but I could use an Olympic-level reset right now.
Not because life is terrible. Not because I’m failing. But because I feel that itch — that whisper — that says, “There’s more.” More strength. More clarity. More purpose. More aligned ambition. I want to level up my business. I want to crush my long-distance cycling goals this summer. I want to feel powerful in my body again. Not in a hustle-until-I-collapse way — but in a grounded, meaningful, this-is-my-life way.
Here’s the thing: The Olympic Reset isn’t about becoming someone else. It’s about becoming who you already know you are underneath the excuses, exhaustion, and old stories. It’s choosing discipline over drama. Commitment over comfort. Long-term purpose over short-term relief.
You don’t need a podium. You need a decision.
So this week, ask yourself three questions:
- What version of me would I be proud of in 3, 6 and 12 months?
- What habits would that version of me start today?
- What would I stop doing immediately?
Let’s not wait for next January. Let’s not wait for “when things calm down.” This is our reset. Mind. Body. Purpose. One recommitment at a time.
