Who Are You Right Now – Even in the Overwhelm?
Jun 15, 2026There comes a point in transformation where the question changes. It’s no longer just, “How do I lose the weight?” or “How do I make more money?” or “How do I stop emotionally eating chocolate like a starving raccoon?” The deeper question becomes: Who am I now? Who am I when life is calm? Who am I when life is in the flow? And maybe most importantly, who am I when life knocks me on my a$$ and I’m sitting there wondering if this is a bad dream, a spiritual awakening, or a chance to level up?
Last week, we received some shocking news. The kind of news that makes everything stand still for a moment. And in that pause, I could feel all the work I’ve been doing being tested. Not the cute work. Not the “I meditated for ten minutes and created a new journal” work. The real work. The inner foundation work. The self-trust, movement, meditation, gratitude, higher-self, breathe-before-you-react work. The work that helps you stay connected to love when fear wants to take the wheel and drive straight into a ditch.
This is why we do it. We don’t build self-trust, move our bodies, meditate, connect to consciousness, and observe ourselves with love because life is always going to be easy. We do it because life is not always easy. The goal is not to become some glowing robot who never gets scared, sad, irritated, or offended (I’d be out a long time ago 😊). The goal is to become someone who can notice what’s happening inside, give yourself compassion, and still choose love. Still choose gratitude. Still choose the next right step.
Because becoming who you really are isn’t about becoming perfect. It’s about letting life move through you instead of trying to control every single piece of it. It’s seeing beauty in the middle of the mess. It’s going for the walk or ride. Sitting quietly for five minutes. Breathing before sending the text. Asking, “What would my best self do here?” and then actually listening, even when she says, “Maybe don’t make this worse, Kimberlee.”
So this week, ask yourself: Who am I now? Not who I was a year ago, ten years ago. Not who am I when everyone is cheering. Who am I today, with this life, with these lessons? Build your foundation one small practice at a time: move your body, quiet your mind, keep one promise to yourself, and look for one beautiful thing. That is how we become unshakeable — not because life stops shaking, but because we learn how to stand in love while it does.
