Why Am I Here? (And How to Feel Good While Figuring It Out)
Nov 10, 2025Ever have one of those moments where you look in the mirror and think, “What is this all for?” (Usually while brushing your teeth, staring at your reflection like a confused puppy.) I’ve asked myself that question more times than I can count — not in a floating-on-a-cloud kind of way, but in a please-help-me-find-my-purpose-because-life-is-hard kind of way.
After a lifetime of searching, evolving, and letting go of the things that once defined me, I think I finally get it: I’m here to evolve, to experience freedom from attachments, and to help others find that same freedom and belonging. It sounds simple, but it’s not. Life keeps handing us shiny distractions — food, scrolling, other people’s opinions — and before we know it, we’re tangled up in them again.
But what if our purpose isn’t about adding more? What if it’s about subtracting — releasing everything that blocks us from feeling good and loved? Because here’s the truth: your purpose isn’t hiding in a mountaintop retreat. It’s right here, in how you feel. Every time you laugh, forgive, or stop fighting reality, you’re living your purpose. You become a walking permission slip for others to feel good, too.
So how do we live it? Ask better questions: instead of “What should I be doing?” ask “What feels light and joyful right now?” Declutter your attachments — the habits, fears, and people that keep you stuck. Laugh at yourself often. And remember — we’re all part of the same big ocean, just different waves trying to find our rhythm.
In the end, maybe we’re all here for one reason: to evolve, to love, to shine, and to help others do the same. You don’t have to chase purpose — you just be it.
